This bird was feeding close to the building all day. It offered a rare chance to see a continental race (limosa) bird as on the South coast as almost all here are Icelandic (islandica) race. It is a juvenile bird and perhaps a British reared one. As juveniles it is possible to asign a race to the as Icelandic birds are much richer in colour and less "lanky", and besides it is way too early for an Icelandic juvenile. Who knows, if they ever split them they might become sought after for county listers.
