Size and structure very similar to accompanying Herring Gull, bill pattern two thirds pinkish with a clearly demarcated dark tip. Outward appearance at rest is of white to off-white plumage with some sparse pale brown markings on the tail and a darker brown outer edge to the P10. When preening the primaries were shown to be edged in pale brown (lighter than the P10) and the primary coverts were also edged in pale brown with darker brown tips. I believe I saw this bird briefly at a distance last month were it revealed that all the coverts on the upper wing had darker tips producing a distinct pattern. A leucistic Herring Gull was present on the Plym earlier this year but as far as I can recall this was an adult bird. Leucistic second winter Herring Gull?
