In certain areas, dippers can be trickier to photograph than in other areas - I'm not talking about opportunities, but the lighting. Trees often line the rivers and this can create heavy shade, which is all very well, but, with dippers having dark plumage and bright white throats - it's difficult to prevent the whites from burning out!
