Occasionally there are benefits of being a County Recorder. I was advised of a male Common Rosefinch in a private garden near Slaley via email on Sunday 26th. After managing to ascertain contact details yesterday I was able to see this apparition this afternoon. The garden owner was reticent to allow general access unfortunately as views best obtained from lounge. Even through double glazing pics were reasonably sharp. Strangely a UK tick for me even after 40 years of trying !
