I have had a marauding sparrowhawk coming through my garden for many years, some times he makes a kill, mostly he doesn't. I see him regularly through my kitchen window when I am never in a position to get a photograph........ such is life. I have on many occasions sat in my garage overlooking the feeding station I have set up in my garden hoping he would come through and settle long enough for me to get a picture, but never had any luck.................. until today. I was waiting for the great spotted woodpecker to come in when there was a shriek and all the small birds disappeared instantly and the male sparrowhawk appeared on a broken tree trunk, it sat for about five seconds and then flew off. I managed to get a few frames off before he disappeared into the shelter belt at he side of the garden This is one of the images I took..........................
