My apologies to the 2 birders who looked at these shots and told me it was a good candidate for Honey when I thought it was Common. The clincher for me was when I got home and saw that the underwings are strongly marked with dark lines that go all the way to the wing tip, with no white patch like a Common Buzzard. Other indicators are long tail, slim body, small head, wings tapering towards body and flat glide with drooped wings. [This bird is a Goshawk - eds]
