After waiting 45 minutes, I was thrilled when this little sprite showed up really well. The Mealy redpolls tend to be more 'bleached' in colour then our commoner Lesser redpolls and they rend to be slightly larger too! This male shows the front with his extensive rosey chest. It was suprising to see that a change in his angle can change his appearance to look like a different bird as my other pictures will demonstrate.
