Herzegovina is straightforward to get to and offers some exceptional European birding and wildlife experiences. Based in a single, central base in a comfortable guesthouse in the beautiful historic town of Mostar, we will head out each day to explore the highly varied and stunning habitats that make spring birding here a real treat.
From the Dinaric Alps through limestone plains to marshlands and the coast, all sites are within easy reach of our accommodation. Migration will be in full swing and we can expect to see a host of exciting species and resident specialities. Highlights should include flocks of European Bee-eater, Hoopoe, Blue Rock Thrush, Rock Partridge, Sombre Tit, Nutcracker, Woodchat and Red-backed Shrikes, Golden Oriole and a wide range of warblers, woodpeckers, raptors and waders. The pace is easy and we will take our time to enjoy the wildlife and scenery, as well as the excellent local cuisines and wines.
This tour is operated for Birdwatch and BirdGuides by Wild Herz Ltd who are fully compliant with the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018. It is fully inclusive of accommodation and meals (breakfast, snacks and bottled water, three-course lunches and dinner with drink in local restaurant), transfers from and to Dubrovnik airport, park entrance fees and permits, guidance, tips and taxes. Not included are international airfares, insurance, and items of a personal nature.
