Black-necked Grebe by Joe Seymour
Scarborough harbour seems to be a popular place for both birds and photographers, with regular postings featuring on Iris.
This lovely shot of a Black-necked Grebe by Joe Seymour, taken at this site, owes everything to the photographer capturing not only the bird but also the beautiful reflections on the water. The perfect light and exposure, a wonderful mix of colours and the posture of the grebe with its glaring red eye greatly add to the image.
Congratulations to Joe on his winning photo, taken with a 400 mm lens and shot at 1/160th second at f5.6 on ISO 800.
