Common Redstart by Natalino Fenech

This brilliant shot of a stunning male Common Redstart by Natalino Fenech is this week's outstanding image.

Males of this species make for a fantastic subject at all times, but to capture one in this spectacular pose is a great achievement. It's a perfect study, illustrating how extensive the red is on the breast, flanks and underwing coverts. Beautiful!

Congratulations to Natalino on his winning image, taken with a 500 mm lens and exposed at 1/1000th second, f7.1 on ISO 250.
