BirdTrack Support Officer

Thetford, Norfolk

£18,949–£21,054 (+ 11% pension contribution)

The British Trust for Ornithology is seeking an outgoing and enthusiastic birder to help run, grow and develop one of our most popular schemes. BirdTrack (www.birdtrack.net) is an online and smartphone package designed to increase the personal, local, national and international value of bird records. Observations entered by individuals for personal use can then be used by county bird recorders and can feed into national and international monitoring and conservation efforts. The successful candidate will have an excellent track record as an active birder and contributor to the bird-recording community. He or she will have a very good knowledge of the birds of Britain & Ireland, be passionate about communicating this knowledge and have good communication and computing skills. A familiarity with online and smartphone wildlife-recording applications is also essential.

Closing date for receipt of applications is 11 am, Monday 11 May 2015.
