IdentificationThis bird looks rather like a dull brown Chiffchaff but with a strikingly long pale supercilium. It can be told from Radde’s Warbler by its daintier proportions, particularly the finer bill and less prominent legs, and the fact that the supercilium is weaker in front of the eye, both can show this feature. In plumage it looks generally duller darker and browner than a Radde’s Warbler. HabitatRare visitor from Asia most likely to be found in bushy coastal areas. MigrationAn altitudinal and long-distance migrant, breeding in northern Asia and wintering in northern India, Burma and the foothills of Nepal. This information is taken from the BirdFile on the appropriate BirdGuides DVD-ROM. As well as video and sounds, our CD- and DVD-ROMs contain additional text on Voice, Sexing, Ageing, Food, Nests and Eggs and more.
