In our small coastal village in southeastern Spain we have had during the past 3-4 years a growing population of Collared doves and now have about 30. In the spring 2 Collared Doves were seen attacking a Blackbirds' nest and killed 1 of the adult Blackbirds to the great dismay of the neighbours. Has anyone else witnessed this kind of aggressiveness in Collared Doves and has anyone any idea why it may have happened?
