Directions

The site is a mile or so south of the Druridge Bay Country Park and is not signposted. As you travel north on the A1068 towards Amble the village of Red Row is on the left. At the second sign for Red Row there is an unsignposted road on the right. This access road is single track with passing places and in poor condition. It winds its way to the dunes and terminates with a turning area/car park. The pools to the north and south may be viewed from the road. At the car park a bridleway runs north and south giving views over the reedbed. At this point there is also a stile giving access to the sand dunes. There is adequate parking but common sense is required.

Parking

Parking on the access road or turning area/car park is not a problem but common sense is required.

Opening Times

Unrestricted.

Facilities

None.

Key Areas / Routes

a. The large pools to the north and south of the road; b. The reedbeds, which may be viewed from the car park area and the bridleway; c. The dunes for seawatching.
