Running The CD-ROM Guide to Rarer British Birds on Windows XP SP2

You may see the following warning message appear in Internet Explorer when trying to run The CD-ROM Guide to Rarer British Birds from the CD or your local hard drive:

To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this file from showing active content that could access your computer. Click here for Options...

There are two workarounds:

• Each time the error is displayed, click on the message and select Allow Blocked Content... (followed by Yes to confirm).
• You can set up IE to accept active content without prompting the error message, as follows:
1. Select Tools, Internet Options...
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. In the Security section, tick Allow active content from CDs to run on My Computer
4. Click OK.
Be aware that this will allow active content on all applications that run from your CD-ROM drive.
