.DLL file error messages

Occasionally you may get an error message that says you need a newer version of a .dll file to run the programme. The message indicates the version you have and the version you need. This can happen if you have installed another software programme some time after installing the BirdGuides product and this newer installation has placed an earlier version of the .dll onto your system.

You can obtain these .dll files from a number of sources. If you are on the Internet, the easiest way is to visit www.easy-files.com and enter your required filename in the search box at the top of the page. If this is not successful, contact us and we may be able to provide you with the file.

Once the file has downloaded, you need to copy it into your C:\Windows\System folder, choosing 'Yes' when asked if you want to overwrite the one already there.

You can also reinstall some files from the Windows CD-ROM.
