Compatibility Mode in Windows XP
Windows XP comes with a feature called Program Compatibility Mode. This
feature is designed to enable older software, which would not normally
be compatible with Windows XP, to be installed. Some of our earlier products
can be installed using this method, but we cannot guarantee it to work
in every case. If this procedure does not work then your product is not
compatible and you will need to upgrade to the latest version.
Installing early BirdGuides products on Windows XP
- Go to Start | All Programs | Accessories.
- Select Program Compatibility Wizard.
- Click Next on the first screen of information.
- Place the product CD-ROM in the drive and choose this option when
asked on the screen.
- Choose the appropriate operating system when asked and click Next.
- On the screen asking about screen resolution and colours, leave all
options unticked and just click Next.
- When all questions have been answered, the program should start to
install as normal. If it doesn't install, you can go back and choose
a different operating system to try.
