How to View Today's BirdMap

The BirdMap shows the location of all rare bird reports for one day graphically on a map of Great Britain. The rarer the bird, the bigger the symbol, so you can pick out anything of interest near you very quickly; the map also indicates whether a bird is newly reported that day, or has been previously reported.

Today's BirdMap is available only to the following categories of users:

• subscribers to Bird News Extra (chargeable service)
• registered users who receive our weekly email newsletter (free service)

(BirdMaps for previous days are accessible to Bird News Extra subscribers only.)
