Using Toolbars and Menus


The menus are used to access the many features of the program. The more commonly used features are also accessible through the toolbars by clicking on the appropriate icon. To select a menu, click on the menu title in the menu bar at the top of the screen.

File Menu

 

The File Menu provides you with options to open and save snapshots of the current browser display - see Taking Snapshots of the Browser for more details.

Select Exit to close the application. If you have Save Settings on Exit enabled then your current program settings will be saved - see Preferences.

 

Features Toolbar and Menu

 

This toolbar and menu generally provides access to features which control the way the program is used, such as searching for information (see Searching) or comparing species (see How to Compare Species).

     

 

Browser Toolbar and Menu

 

These features provide browser navigation and display features controlling the way assets are viewed in the browser.

In addition to the menu items, the toolbar provides you with a Zoom Slider control to adjust the size at which assets are displayed - see Scaling Assets in the Browser for more detailed information.

 

Help Menu

 

Use this menu to access all the help and information resources for the program. This includes access to various online websites for support and updates as well as this help documentation! - see Checking for Updates and Obtaining Technical Support for more information.
